Physical-and-mechanical and geological-and-mechanical parameters of rocks and ores have been examined for estimation of stability of pit wall at Akbastau deposit (open mining).

During research work, parameters of basic physical-and-mechanical properties of ores and rocks from Akbastau deposit (Kazakhmys Corporation) were determined. On the basis of new information, concerning physical-and-mechanical properties of ores and rocks, walls stability for design variant of the pit has been estimated preliminary.
