For JSC “Chelyabinskiy Zinc Plant” (Russia), there was studied influence of impurities in zinc concentrates produces at processing of the ores from Altay and Urals deposits on quality of roasting at fluid-bed furnaces at ChZP.

There was carried out studies of impurities influence on roasting of fine-dispersed zinc concentrates produced at processing of the ores from Altay and Urals deposits. It was found out that SiO2, ZnSO4, Pb, Cu impurities influence roasting process negatively. Worst results of the roasting were obtained on the concentrates with increased content (>-1.5%) of the indicated impurities, especially in the presence of Na, K.

As a result of the work, recommendations on impurities content control that may improve roasted product quality were given.
